Felipe-Barragan-TorresI´m a biologist, graduated from the National University of Colombia, with a background in botany and ecology. I am currently studying a master’s degree in Biological Sciences, in the line of Integrated Ecosystem Management, at the Research Institute on Ecosystems and Sustainability of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. My project aims to understand how land use history and landscape determine attributes of plant communities like biomass, diversity and composition during secondary succession.

I began my formation studying the variation of communities in response to environmental seasonality in flooded savannas and currently my interest is to investigate what factors affect succession in secondary forests, for application in conservation alternatives.

Lines of interest:

– Interaction of factors affecting communities

– Differential response of community attributes

– Generation of biodiversity management and conservation alternatives
