El Centro de Investigaciones en Ecosistemas (CIEco) es una dependencia de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) que está dedicada a la investigación científica, a la formación de recursos humanos y a la difusión de conocimiento a la sociedad. La comunidad científica del CIEco pretende aportar conceptos teóricos, metodológicos y tecnológicos que sean útiles para el entendimiento de sistemas socio-ecológicos sustentables. Para ello, el Centro realiza estudios sobre conservación, restauración, ordenamiento y aprovechamiento de los ecosistemas, sus recursos y servicios, desde una perspectiva interdisciplinaria, donde confluyen disciplinas de las ciencias naturales y sociales.
